How it all began

In November of 2009, I found myself in a difficult - well, uncomfortable financial situation. Everything had to be budgeted to the penny. To use the cliche, I had to tighten my belt. One way I did that was to stop buying those yummy lattes at Starbucks. I wouldn't have one every day, but still, even one a week adds up pretty quickly. After a month, I noticed some things.

1. Lattes didn't taste as yummy as I remembered.
2. I'd lost ten pounds.

I had not changed any other aspect of my life. I did not exercise more. I did not eat more fruits or vegetables, though I was eating a decent amount of those already. But still, ten pounds were lost. And, I am pleased to say, ten pounds stayed lost.

Call me greedy, I'd like to lose another ten. Well, actually, I would like to lose another 30. But, I have to start somewhere. I figure, I am less likely to quit, if I publicize the process. I wrote a play last year and blogged about it. Partly the reason I kept at it was because I knew that people would see it if I failed. So logic dictates that this blog will keep me on track.

Now, why exactly should you read this? Well, you don't have to. BUT I will post recipes, workouts that I like, etc. And you get to be supportive. Ain't that great?
